The academic year of Theatre begins in August and Arts and Music in September every year. We open the floor for admissions, receive applications, and call eligible applicants for an audition. The auditions are headed by the President of NAPA and overseen by the members of the Theatre Arts Faculty, who finalise the applicants.

Admissions Criteria:
  • The minimum age for application is 17 years; there is no upper age limit.
  • For the diploma course applicants should have an A Levels or an Intermediate certificate
  • Preference will be given to applicants with some experience of performing arts
Admissions Process:
  • Applications are accepted the end of each calendar year (July).
  • Application forms may be collected from NAPA during office hours (12 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday).
  • When submitting application forms, applicants must bring with them:
    • A non-refundable application fee of Rs.500
    • Original NIC and two photocopies
    • Attested copies, as well as originals (for verification), of all required documents
    • Six passport size photographs
  • Incomplete applications will not be considered
  • Candidates who pass the first stage of screening will be called for an audition
Music Admissions:
  • No recorded material or accompaniment is permitted during an audition
  • Live tabla and harmonium accompaniment will be available if required

Vocal Music: Candidates must perform at least one vocal composition of their choice (2-3 min. duration).

Instrumental Music: Candidates must perform one piece (2-3 min. duration) on an instrument of their choice. With the exception of piano, candidates are required to bring their own instrument.

Theatre Admissions:

Candidates will be offered a choice of 5 or 6 monologues. They must choose one and memorize it. In addition, candidates must prepare a monologue (2 to 3 minutes in duration) of their own choosing. This second monologue should be in contrast to the piece given by NAPA.

At NAPA, we firmly believe that opportunity shouldn’t be reserved only for the privileged, which is why we offer scholarships to deserving students who have the required talent but are constrained by financial circumstances.

Admission Process Guide

Step 1: Complete the Registration Form
Fill out the registration form completely and accurately before the registration deadline.
Step 2: Arrange All Required Documents
Gather all documents requested on the form. Your form will not be accepted for submission unless it is complete.
Step 3: Proceed to Payment
Once your documents are ready, pay the registration fee. Payment can be made in either of the following ways:
  • Online through bank transfer (Bank details are in form)
  • At NAPA’s Accounts Office
Step 4: Submit Your Form
Once your file is complete, with the form, documents, and proof of payment, submit it at the Coordinator’s Office at NAPA or E mail to music.admission@napa.org.pk
Step 5: Selection Process (Audition & Interview)
Verified applicants will receive their audition schedule through the contact information provided. Applicants will be required to attend an audition in their chosen subject.
i) Vocal Applicants
Applicants should prepare at least two songs of their choice that best demonstrate their vocal ability.
ii) Instrument Applicants

Applicants should prepare two musical pieces of their choice on their selected instrument. In addition to the practical audition, applicants may also be assessed on:

  • Musical aptitude
  • Sense of rhythm and pitch
  • Basic music theory knowledge
  • Overall musical potential
Confirming Your Admission
Step 6: Pay the Admission and Trimester Fee
Applicants who successfully complete the selection process will be notified through the contact information provided on their registration form. To confirm admission, selected applicants must pay the admission fee and the first trimester fee within the given deadline to secure their seat in the programme.

FAQs

NAPA offers a 3-Year Diploma Programme in Music with intensive performance-based training.

You can choose one of the following majors:
• Vocals
• Tabla
• Flute
• Sarangi
• Sitar
• Piano
• Guitar

Applicants must be 12 years or older.

Previous training is helpful but not compulsory. During the audition, applicants are assessed on their musical ability, rhythm, pitch, basic music theory, and overall potential.

• Tuition Fee: Rs. 24,000 per trimester (4 months)

Yes. Payment can be made through bank transfer or directly at the NAPA Accounts Office.

Yes. It is a full-time programme. Students should remain available for classes, rehearsals, and other academic activities as schedules may change.

Step 5: Selection Process (Monologue Round)
Round 1: Monologue audition
Verified applicants will receive the details of Round 1 through the contact information provided on their form. For this round, you are required to prepare two monologues: • One monologue from the text provided to you • One monologue of your own choice Both monologues will be presented in front of a jury on the day of Round 1. Please note only students who have cleared Round 1 will be called for Round 2.
Round 2: Selection Process (Callback Round)
Round 2 consists of two parts: an interview, and a studio session. The studio session is an improvisation-based movement session, where a workshop will be conducted by a faculty member. Note: Students are requested to wear loose comfortable sports clothing for this session If selected in Round 2, you will be informed through the contact information provided on your form.
